canon lens great for falconers
The canon 100-400mm EF f4.5/5.6 USM zoom lens has been available for some time now but is still a favorite with professional and amateur photographers alike.
The canon lens is special in so many ways but one of the main features has got to be the image stabilizer. Image stabilizers work to give you sharper image by counteracting camera shake. Image stabilized lenses use two tiny gyros that precess with camera movement and send a signal to move lens elements, a prism, or the sensor plane in the opposite direction of your camera’s movement. You shake one way, it shakes the other way. For handheld shots with slower shutter speeds or aerial photography, image stabilization is an invaluable tool for damping vibration to minimize motion blur. This means you get sharper images even of say a falcon in full stoop.
The canon 100-400mm zoom lens has a 77mm opening at the front of the lens which also allows more light in to the camera. This means you can use higher shutter speeds to freeze the action. This canon lens also uses ultrasonic, which means that it can auto-focus very fast and is still very quiet.
The canon lens however is not light. For its size it’s surprising heavy, but with this much glass inside it will be. At the moment you could get this lens in the U.S for a great price especially if you live in the UK. Having such a large camera lens gives you the chance to get some great shots. I’m looking forward to taking some more shots with my camera this next coming season.
